No US airstrikes in Syria without consent from Damascus – Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in a telephone call have exchanged views on the joint efforts of the international community to fight the Islamic State, the Kremlin reports. The Russian side stressed that airstrikes on terrorist bases should not be carried out without the consent of the Syrian government.
