Russian Foreign Ministry calls NATO entry into Black Sea with war ships provocation

March 5. Interfax-AVN - Sunset NATO ships in the Black Sea is a provocative idea that will not help resolve the conflict in eastern Ukraine, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich.
"With regard to the approach of ships, I would say this is a very alarming and provocative idea that absolutely does not add stability and confidence in the fact that the peace process will be accelerated in Ukraine", - he told reporters in Moscow on Thursday.
"The complex is - a very unpleasant factor. Military commanders must be aware of the fact that such provocative actions can have serious consequences for the course of the settlement of this conflict," - said Lukashevich, referring to the presence in the Black Sea NATO ships and implications of the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
He stated that "military presence near the regional conflict - it is always a very dangerous maneuver that may well lead to various unpleasant consequences."
"We hope that the US military command is aware that the presence of US warships - this is not a sign that this factor will contribute to a political settlement of the conflict Ukrainian," - said.
He stated that "it is a bit contrary to public statements, which makes administration (USA) in favor of a political settlement of the conflict exclusively in the Ukraine."
