Iran, Russia sign economic, trade, banking cooperation MoU

Moscow, Aug 5. IRNA – Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh and head of the Iranian side of Iran-Russia Joint Cooperation Commission announced that Tehran and Moscow have signed a memorandum of understanding on economic and trade cooperation and also a MoU on banking ties.

Zanganeh who left Tehran for Moscow for a one-day visit to Russia after meeting Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak who is also head of Iran-Russia Joint Commission said: ˈI had good negotiations with Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak as head of Iran-Russia Joint Cooperation Commission.ˈ

Zanganeh noted that economic and trade cooperation between Iran and Russia is at a low level, and said, ˈThe Iranian and Russian presidents have laid emphasis on expansion of economic cooperation between Iran and Russia as an important strategy.ˈ 

ˈAs Iranian head of the Iran-Russia joint economic commission I emphasized on the expansion of trade and economic cooperation with Russia,ˈ he added. 

He pointed to a banking MoU between Iran and Russia as an important document and reiterated on the need for its implementation.
