Strategic Missile Forces commander: “Sarmat” missiles to be deployed in Volga region and Siberia

The shaft mounts of the 100-ton “Sarmat” heavy ballistic missile, created in the Russia, will be deployed in the Orenburg region and the Krasnoyarsk Territory, said commander of the Strategic Missile Forces Colonel-General Sergei Karakayev.

It was reported that the missile set to replace the “Satana” is planned to be created by 2020.

“According to our plans, everything has already been decided. This heavy missile will be deployed in Uzhur (Krasnoyarsk region) and the village of Dombarovsky (Orenburg region),” – said Karakayev.

Currently, components and units of the “Sarmat” heavy ICBM are being tested. Production of these missiles is carried out exclusively by a cooperation of Russian enterprises.
